In a commercial fitting out environment it is quite common for conceptual presentations to be made to the client. Initial concept ideas (mini-presentations) often get you on to the shortlist and then even more skill is needed to win the business. Concept presentations have been around for as long as there has been the products and skill sets available to capture the customers’ imagination (and budget), in a way that is better than the competition.

AR offers a comprehensive new toolkit that can lower the cost of presentations and provide the edge over what the competition can offer. Stock products can be pulled from a library offering “real” views to support existing presentations. For newly designed, customer specific product solutions, items can be presented as needed in alternative colours and surface textures to suit the client’s taste. Offering the customer realistic presentation even before it is manufactured.

In a conventional B2C website environment, items can be presented in the right scale/colour/texture/finish, to the customer for evaluation, in their own space. In addition, it forms the basis for all the graphics and photo images one would normally expect to put in place on such a website.

Designers can also utilise our computer skills; getting back their design in the form requested – in terms of size, colour-ways and material options required.

Makes improved website product presentation at less cost

Providing product information professionally and affordably on any website, is not a trivial process. Getting the right balance of high quality photographic imagery combined with other more modest representations, can provide an affordable result which will vary from one business to another.

Accurate AR models created at the correct level of detail can and will as the technology develops, provide replacement to much of the higher cost of photography – and all it entails, by enabling presentation to be made in augmented reality environment.

Once a low cost AR model has been produced, there is great flexibility available, including its use a short animation (recorded on an iPad) can show all aspects of the items at least as well as using conventional means – but all though one computer at significantly lower cost.
